Description

Effective Absorption + Infection Binding for the Sacral Area

Cutimed Siltec Sorbact B Sacrum is a sterile, bacteria- and fungi-binding foam dressing specifically designed to manage wounds in the sacral area. It combines Sorbact® Technology with a superabsorbent foam core and silicone adhesive border, offering both infection control and high fluid retention in one dressing.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Hydrophobic Microbe Binding — The Sorbact® DACC-coated contact layer binds bacteria and fungi physically, without releasing active chemicals.

  • Superabsorbent Foam Core — Absorbs and retains exudate, including viscous drainage, reducing the risk of leakage and maceration in the sacral region.

  • Silicone Adhesive Border — Gentle on surrounding skin, supports secure fixation and easier removal.

  • Breathable, Waterproof Backing Film — Protects the wound from external contamination while allowing moisture vapor escape.

  • Extended Wear Capability — Can remain in place for up to 7 days when wound conditions allow.

  • Anatomical Sacrum Design — Shaped to conform to the sacral area, ensuring better fit and comfort in that region.

Indications & Appropriate Use

Use this dressing on superficial wounds in the sacral region that are low to high exuding and may be clean, contaminated, colonised or infected. Typical applications include:

  • Pressure ulcers (sacral area)

  • Traumatic or surgical wounds near the sacrum

  • Wounds requiring both fluid management and microbial control

How to Apply & Remove

  1. Clean the wound and surrounding skin and ensure the area is dry.

  2. Select a dressing size that overlaps the wound edges by at least 1 cm. Do not cut the silicone-bordered portion.

  3. Remove the protective liner and apply the dressing so the Sorbact layer contacts the wound bed fully, avoiding stretching.

  4. Secure with secondary fixation (tape, bandage) if needed.

  5. Monitor exudate and change the dressing when saturated or as clinically indicated.

  6. To remove, gently lift one edge—the silicone border and smooth contact surface help minimize trauma.
