Who is eligibile for the NDIS?
To be eligible for the NDIS and NDIS funding, participant's must:
- Be under 65 years of age
- Be an Australian citizen
- Live in an area which is transitioning into the NDIS (a “launch site”)
- Each state and territory have different role out schedules which will transition people to the NDIS between 1 July 2016 through to 2019.

- Is unable able to join activities or do things without assistive technology, equipment and / or home modifications
If you are not eligible for the NDIS, you will continue to receive any existing funding.
How do you determine whether you are eligible for the NDIS?
The NDIS website’s Access Checker will give you an indication of eligibility.

If you are eligible and currently receive disability services through a previous scheme, your details will be sent to the NDIA when they are ready for your transition. You will be contacted three to six months prior to transition.
