Effective Exudate Management with Gentle Removal

Cutimed Siltec B is a sterile, silicone-coated polyurethane foam dressing with superabsorbent stripes designed to absorb and lock wound exudate while minimizing risk of skin maceration. Its soft silicone wound contact layer avoids adherence to newly formed tissue, and the self-adhesive border ensures secure placement with atraumatic changes.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Strong Absorption with Superabsorbent Stripes — Vertical fluid uptake ensures wound fluid is drawn into the core and locked in place, even under compression.

  • Atraumatic Dressing Changes — The silicone contact surface protects delicate new tissue and facilitates gentle removal without pain or damage.

  • Self-Adhesive Silicone Border — Allows secure fixation without secondary dressings, while minimizing irritation to surrounding skin.

  • Breathable, Water-Repellent Backing — Protects from external contaminants and allows moisture vapor transmission to help maintain ideal wound environment.

  • Cut-to-Size Flexibility — Can be trimmed to suit wound shape (excluding the adhesive border).

  • Wear Duration up to 7 Days — Depending on wound exudate levels and dressing saturation, it may be left in place for extended periods.

Indications & Use Cases

Cutimed Siltec B is suitable for exuding wounds of various origins, including:

  • Venous or arterial leg ulcers

  • Pressure ulcers

  • Diabetic foot ulcers

  • Surgical wounds, donor sites, grafts

  • Lacerations or abrasions

  • Wounds needing both absorption and gentle handling of delicate tissue

It is recommended for use when exudate levels range from low to high.

How to Apply & Remove

  1. Clean and dry the wound area and surrounding skin thoroughly.

  2. Select a dressing size that extends at least 1 cm beyond wound edges.

  3. Remove release liner and apply with the silicone contact surface against the wound; avoid stretching.

  4. Press gently on the border to secure adhesion.

  5. Monitor exudate levels and change the dressing when saturated or as clinically indicated.

  6. To remove, lift the edge slowly—silicone border and non-adhesive contact layer support gentle, painless removal.
