We are currently navigating a complex global environment due to the escalation of the conflict in Iran. This has led to immediate impacts on global oil prices and international shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz. These macroeconomic factors are now flowing through to the Australian supply chain in the form of increased freight costs and fluctuating stock availability.

Below is a summary of how we are managing these changes and the steps we are taking to support you.

Freight & Shipping

The sharp rise in global crude oil prices has significantly impacted transport costs nationwide.

  • Courier Adjustments: Our primary freight partners, Australia Post and StarTrack, have announced substantial increases to their fuel surcharges effective 23 April 2026.

  • Domestic parcel rates are increasing from 4.8% to 12%, while StarTrack Premium services are increasing from 15.5% to 22.7%.

  • Ongoing Volatility: Due to the current climate, freight providers are moving to a 30-day notice period for future surcharge updates to reflect the latest data.

  • Our Commitment: We are reviewing our logistics daily to find the most efficient ways to get products to you. We recommend, where possible, placing slightly larger orders less frequently to help mitigate the impact of per-delivery freight surcharges.

Inventory & Availability

Global supply chains are currently constrained, and demand for certain healthcare consumables is high.

  • Fluctuating Stock: You may notice that availability of some items—such as specific MoliCare SKIN cleansers and lotions—is currently limited or out of stock due to global demand.

  • Fair Allocation Policy: To ensure a fair process for all our customers, items are only allocated to an order once payment is received. This "first-paid-first-fulfilled" policy prevents "panic buying" and ensures stock is distributed equitably.

  • Our Commitment: We are actively increasing our stock holdings of critical lines and maintaining a constant dialogue with our suppliers to stay ahead of shortages.

Pricing

Increased costs for raw materials (such as oil-derived resins used in packaging and plastics) and heightened freight charges have led to price adjustments from several of our national suppliers.

  • Review Process: Some supplier price adjustments are scheduled to take effect through April and May 2026.

  • Our Commitment: We are working hard to absorb costs where possible. We are committed to reviewing pricing monthly with our suppliers; should market conditions stabilise and supplier costs reduce, we will work to pass those savings back to you promptly.
